Traditional Pumpkin Pie Recipe

 

Pumpkin Pie Recipe

Ingredients:
1 pastry recipe for 9 inch pie crust
2 cups (480ml) milk, scalded
2 cups (450g) pumpkin, cooked and strained (or plain canned pumpkin)
1 cup (240ml) maple syrup
1/8 cup (30g) sugar
1 Tbsp. flour
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
2 large eggs, beaten

Cooking Time:1hr 30m
Serves: 8

Instructions:
Heat the oven to 425 degrees F or 220 degrees C
Line pie tin with pastry
Mix all ingredients together and pour into pastry case
Place on a baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Remove from oven and put on a wire rack and leave to cool.
